When I started the Digital Design Class – ITECH 100 with Professor Krikun, and she told us from the first day that we needed to have a Website where we could start building up our Portfolio stressing that every design student needs a Portfolio. My first reaction was excitement because I had earlier on tried to do an Internship during the Summer and the first thing every job application specified in addition to all the other specifications was a Design Portfolio. You are to add a link to the Job Application which also showed it was not a Paper portfolio required.

I decided not to do a job during the summer finally because I wanted to do other things but I knew I had to do a Portfolio but did not have the first clue as to what to do. Once classes started, with every lesson, we added to the Word Press Site Professor made us have. I then applied for a job and even though I had not done a lot of the Assignments by then I was excited to include the link into the job application and was not surprised I got the job. Having an Online portfolio is very essential as it gives an inning into your personality and creativity. It gives one a voice better than can be gotten during an interview. Infact, it speaks for you and helps interviewers and clients decide if you will have a job.
